ilumisys Announces Channel Partner Agreement with Greenlight Initiative
ilumisys LEDs for environmentally-friendly lights expands presence on East Coast
Troy, Michigan – Nov. 11, 2008 - ilumisys, Inc., developer and producer of next-generation solid-state lighting technology, announces that Greenlight Initiative is now an ilumisys channel partner.
New York- and Atlanta-based Greenlight Initiative now offers the ilumisys line of alternative energy lighting products – including patented light emitting diode (LED) tubes – designed to directly replace standard T8 and T12 fluorescent tubes. Unlike the fluorescent tubes they replace, the ilumisys MK1 tubes are mercury-free in addition to providing an energy-efficient alternative.
“In a sea of over-rated and over-stated LED-based products targeted at the T8 and T12 fluorescent tube replacement market, the ilumisys product was the only one we found that fully embraced real truth in marketing,” said Nik Nicolakis, president and co-founder of Greenlight Initiative. “The resources ilumisys has at its disposal, including their ability to design and build under one roof, are obviously being put to effective use in creating a class-leading reputation for quality and value.”
The next generation solid state lighting created by ilumisys offers an easy transition from traditional fluorescent lighting while taking full advantage of attributes of light-emitting diodes including long life, temperature robustness, vibration tolerance and energy efficiency.
"Greenlight Initiative serves as a powerful extension of ilumisys’s national footprint," said Dave Simon, president of ilumisys. "Greenlight’s goals align with ilumisys for transforming existing installed fluorescent fixtures for businesses and organizations without incurring costly infrastructure changes."
Patented circuitry enables ilumisys MK1 LEDs to operate in existing fluorescent fixtures, without modifications to the fixtures or ballasts, allowing users to simply remove an existing fluorescent tube and drop in the ilumisys MK1 product. The ilumisys MK2 runs off of 120 VAC and 277 VAC building currents.
